Grant/Community Outreach
Beautification Grant in the works
Our primary & secondary schools have a tremendous opportunity to educate our next generation about sustainable practices. With lack of exercise, obesity on the rise , and a natural curiosity at an all time low, kids have a dis-connect to where their food, clothing, or toys come from. The interconnectness of the garden teaches kids about respect for our earth & self, reducing, re-using, and recycling, a healthy diet, etc. It is not only the school district's responsibility however, but the supporting communities that will make this successful. It is this very connectiveness of school and community that made this garden happen.
